Hard Times Bring Blessings and Grace

Psalms 40:4-5
Blessed is that man (woman or child :)) that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Yesterday I shared with you a conversation I had with a friend concerning our “infirmities.” We emailed this back and forth to each other.

I love my friend “Josephine.” She is such a blessing, full of compassion and love for others.

I had left off with asking her to pray for me and this was her reply to me:

“And yes, you know I will pray…with understanding and compassion. Pain is pain and it doesn’t matter the level or intensity. You hurt and that is what is important. To me, it is merely a reminder, a resolve, that Jesus alone is all that matters and it always puts me in that place of “weakness” and then I experience His divine grace to get me through each day. The other day, I went to see “Jackie” in hospital. Oh I did not feel like going cause the pain was pretty bad. Then I feel like the Holy Spirit spoke gently, quietly…”Jesus loves that lady…and that is the all consuming importance..not me….Him and “Jackie”. It was neat..during that time with her, I simply do NOT remember any pain or even thinking about it. It always helps me on my worse day, to dress up, makeup and all, (ewww) and reach out to someone or do something for my husband and daughter. (now you know my secret when I am super dressed up at the store…bad bad bad bad bad pain day!) Then Candy, there are days, I simply have to lay down, but I know He gives me those kind of days to rest and be still with Him. He will guide you, that much I know because you want Him so. This pain is a precious tool sent from the Almighty to dress you in a bridal gown for Him! I love you dear sister.”

The Lord is truly amazing to meet us where we are.

We need to get our thoughts off ourselves and onto Jesus and others. We are not giving glory to Jesus by sitting or lying around thinking “woe is me….poor me….why this Lord.” How pitiful we can be.

I don’t know why the Lord choses to use on tool over another, as He works in people’s lives, but that is His business and not mine.

Isaiah 55:8-13
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

The Lord is so good. He meets me where I am and in the place He has allowed me to be. He has placed me just where He wants me. I don’t want to be in any other place than where Jesus wants me. I do not want to do, act, react, say or not say anything that will not please Him.

Psalms 119:12 (KJV)
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

Psalms 119:64-68 (KJV)
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes. 65 Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according unto thy word. 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. 67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. 68 Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

Psalms 119:107-109 (KJV)
I am afflicted very much: quicken (make me alive) me, O Lord, according unto thy word. 108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me thy judgments. 109 My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.

 Psalms 143:10 (KJV)
Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

2 Timothy 2:1-3 (Amplified Bible)
SO YOU, my son, be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace (spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. 2 And the [instructions] which you have heard from me along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust [as a deposit] to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and qualified to teach others also. 3 Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:1-3 (KJV)
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

I can not stress enough that the way we feel should not rule us and what the Lord has called us to do. It is Jesus first me second ann most of the time further down the line….like 10th or 12th or so….It is where the Lord has but us. I am (we are) to deny ourselves. Deny utterly, disown ones self…. (Matthew 16:24; mark 8:34; Luke 9:23) I am to count myself as dead.

Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The more I think of myself the more I hurt…in whatever way that may be, physically, mentally, or spiritually.

Colossians 3:1-4 (Amplified Bible) IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. 3 For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in [the splendor of His] glory. (Greatest hope of all)

I don’t think anymore needs to be said. I need to stop complaining about how I feel and look at what is important to Jesus and please Him first AND He will take care of me.

God bless you. Trusting His grace leads you as you walk in the hope He continually holds out to you.

I just read this and it was a real blessing to me. I trust it will bless you also.

Psalm 25 (Amplified Bible)
[A Psalm] of David.
1 UNTO YOU, O Lord, do I bring my life.
2 O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.
3 Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.
4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.
5 Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.
6 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercy and loving-kindness; for they have been ever from of old.
7 Remember not the sins (the lapses and frailties) of my youth or my transgressions; according to Your mercy and steadfast love remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He instruct sinners in [His] way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right, and the humble He teaches His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness are they for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity and my guilt, for [they are] great.
12 Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose.
13 He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land.
14 The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 [Lord] turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are multiplied; bring me out of my distresses.
18 Behold my affliction and my pain and forgive all my sins [of thinking and doing].
19 Consider my enemies, for they abound; they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 O keep me, Lord, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for and expect You.
22 Redeem Israel (me) , O God, out of all (my) their troubles.

The Lord Jesus is so totally awesome. Where can we go wrong trusting in our Saviour? Where will we loose in hoping in Him? Where is HIs grace ever short? No where!!!!!

God is wonderful…It is rainy and cold out!

Yes it is rainy and cold out today. But what a wonderful day it is.

Why? you say. I will tell you why.

Psalms 118:23-24 (KJV)
This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. 24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Our day may not seem to “feel” as it is holding much for us, but oh how it is.

Job 5:9-11 (Amplified Bible)
Who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number, 10 Who gives rain upon the earth and sends waters upon the fields, 11 So that He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn He lifts to safety.

The Lord God Almighty, the Holy One, our Jesus does this for us. Praise God!

Job 5:16-18  (Amplifed Bible)
So the poor have hope, and iniquity shuts her mouth. 17 Happy and fortunate is the man whom God reproves; so do not despise or reject the correction of the Almighty [subjecting you to trial and suffering]. 18 For He wounds, but He binds up; He smites, but His hands heal.

What marvelous hope we all have in our Saviour. How absolutely blessed we are in Him. He loves us so. If He did not,He would not take the time to redirect our lives and build us back up again. How precious is He.

Romans 11:33-36-12:1-3  (KJV)
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith

Who can know why the Lord does what He does, except for the one main fact, He loves us. His desire is we would give ourselves totally and completely to Him. Paul tells us here it is a reasonable thing to do. It is rational, not something way out there in left field, but wonderful. In whatever place we ind ourselves we are given faith for it.god supplies that faith. But are we willing to receive His supply for us? I would trust so. There is no other way to please Him. There is no other way to live and walk in this Christian life without faith in our God.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified Bible)
1 NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Hebrews 12:1-2 (Amplified Bible)
1 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, 2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

We can only seek the Lord diligently (with our whole heart) by faith. As we read chapter 11 of Hebrews we see all the ones that endured afflictions and other hard time…some, many died because of their faith in God, yet they looked at it as an honor not a horror. They were looking for a better and greater country. Their eyes and hearts were let upon the will of God and the hope they had in Him.

We, too can have this same hope in the Lord. We have many witness standing before and about us. Not only the ones from biblical times, but there ones that have served and given their lives for Christ for the past 2000+ years. People are giving their lives now and it is a joy for them. Christ, who endured the greatest of all sufferings counted His “lot” to be a joy. We were His “lot”, His suffer, and we were His joy. Can we not count our “lot”, our sufferings and difficult situations in life as a joy for Him. Jesus bore the cross  His Father gave him and so He did it for us. We ought to bear our cross that Christ has chosen for us, for His sake.

Jeremiah 29:11 (Amplified Bible)
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

The Lord has a wonderful plan for our lives. We do not think on the same level as He does for our lives, but we need to learn to. What He plans for our lives is wonderful and it will have an awesome outcome.

Praise the Lord for His work in our lives, in my live.

I love you and trusting you be bathed in the grace of and look eagerly into His hope for you. :)
