Numbers 9:15-23 (AMP)
15 And on the day that the tabernacle was erected, the cloud [of God's presence] covered the tabernacle, that is, the Tent of the Testimony; and at evening it was over the tabernacle, having the appearance of [a pillar of] fire until the morning.
16 So it was constantly; the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
17 Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, after that the Israelites journeyed; and in the place where the cloud rested, there the Israelites encamped.
18 At the Lord‘s command the Israelites journeyed, and at [His] command they encamped. As long as the cloud rested upon the tabernacle they remained encamped.
19 Even when the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle many days, the Israelites kept the Lord’s charge and did not set out.
20 And sometimes the cloud was only a few days upon the tabernacle, but according to the command of the Lord they remained encamped, and at His command they journeyed.
21 And sometimes the cloud remained [over the tabernacle] from evening only until morning, but when the cloud was taken up, they journeyed; whether it was taken up by day or by night, they journeyed.
22 Whether it was two days or a month or a longer time that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, dwelling on it, the Israelites remained encamped; but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
23 At the command of the Lord they remained encamped, and at [His] command they journeyed; they kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord through Moses.
Are we being led by the Spirit of God?
We need to ask ourselves, “Am I being lead of the Lord? Am I following where He desires me to go? Do I say or not say the things He desires? Do I go or stay where He tells me? Am I walking in His Spirit as He leads and directs me? Am I allowing myself to be teachable, to be soft and pliable in His hands?”
There are so many questions we could ask ourselves, but, if our heart earnestly has a plea: “Lead me. Cause me to desire Your will above all else so that I may be pliable in Your hands. Give me Your desires so I may be teachable and do Your will as You desire. Lord I want to surrender all I am to You, here I am.”
The Lord will answer. Now we, you and I, are to walk in His Spirit as He leads.
Romans 8:14 (KJV) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God
I’m sure you have given thought to all the work and effort it took to tear down and set up the Tabernacle, all the tents, care of the animals and what it took to “set-up house” each time one of these pillars moved. My heavens!!!
God took that into consideration, He knew what it would take to pack-up and to set-up.
What do we do when God asks us to do something? AAHHGGGRRRRRRUUUUUGGHHH!!!!!!! BUT LORD….YOU DO NOT______________….(fill in the blank for yourself).
But God does know! He does understand what it takes to get us to shift gears and obey. But we are to obey in all circumstances.
Moses and Israel did not know where, when, how or why God was moving them and the changes that were ahead of them. But they obeyed.
Sad to say Israel did not always obey the leading of the Lord. We should and need to learn from their example.
God promised Moses…Exodus 3:12 (KJV) And he said, Certainly I will be with thee;
We are also promised the same as Moses was…. Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) …..for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Hebrews 4:15-16 (ESV) 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
God bless you. Until next time…Remember…Gods grace always gives us hope.
Think about this, an added thought for you. Hope and grace go hand in hand. If it were not for the grace of God, there would not be a pillar of a cloud by day or a pillar of fire by night to lead the Israelites. The pillars that le them gave them hope and direction. Without One to show us the way, the truth and giving us direction, we lose all hope in life. It is the grace of God through Jesus Christ we have hope. Rest in His grace. Rely on His grace. Live and walk in His grace. Neglecting to do so will cause us to drift away from Jesus, His promises, His truth and life He has so richly blessed us with in Him. Without hope we would not be able to experience the fullness of is grace. God’s grace reveals hope we have in Him, while hope illuminates His grace to us. Grace and hope are two of many awesome gifts freely given to us, embrace them.
In Jesus’ love. Candy
