I also posted it to start and to provoke thought. We need to see the lighter side of life, but we also need to check in and ask ourselves a few questions once in a while.

 

Many of us take it by happen-stance we are good people, and most people are. But just being good doesn’t get you to heaven.

 

Some people are saved, “I’ll get to heaven.” and praise the Lord I am grateful for that, but that isn’t where it stops.

 

So many of us/people miss out on so much more of what the Lord has for us.

 

John 10:10
¹⁰ The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.We can allow and let oursselves be distracted from the blessings of the Lord. Our enemy, satan, that ol’ devil, is a theif and he wants to not only distrract us from the abundant life God has prepared for us but to steal, kill and distroy us in any way he can. He can not do any of this wiht out our permission or the permission of God. the enemy will have more of grip and chokehold in your life if you choose to walk iin your own ways and desires. You can choose o walk in the world and enjoy the pleasures for a season. (Hebrews 11:24-26; Job 36:21; Psalms 84:10; Luke 12:19-21…try to take the time to read these Scriptures, they my enlighten you, Scripture has a way of doing that.)Our Christian walk or way of life or abundant life He has prepared for us, is a relationship. Jesus desires a relationship with YOU…with me.

Revelation 3:20
²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Don’t allow yourself to be caught doing your “own thing”. Joshua 24:15 say “choose you this day whom you will serve.” we need to make  conscious choice each day to whom we are going to serve. Ourselves or the Lord.

Matthew 25:1-13
¹ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. ² And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. ³ They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: ⁴ But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. ⁶ And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. ⁷ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. ⁹ But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. ¹⁰ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. ¹¹ Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. ¹² But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. ¹³ Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Song of Songs 5:2-6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

We have life in and through Christ. If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you were baptized into His death; you were buried with Him; you were also raised into life with Him.

 

Look at is this way, if we’re died with Christ, we are dead to sin. we sin because we want to. Go to the cemetary, do you see people sinning. Of course not, they are dead and buried. Well in like fashion so are we who have accepted the death and resurrection of Christ. If we died with Him we also rose in life as Christ, we are a heavenly creature. We no longer are under the law but grace. We longer have to keep ourselves, it is God that has done that for us through the acceptance of His death and resurrection. We no longer ar servants of sin, we now are freely able to choose to serve Jesus freely.

 

I trust God’s grace to enlighten you with the hope we have  in Him as we draw closer to Him in the relationship He so desires to have with you and me.
