How do we Worship the Lord?

Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering,
and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice:
and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.
Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord,
because he cometh to judge the earth.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
1 Chronicles 16:27-34 (KJV)

This does not mean to worship Him in a beautiful church. It means to worship Him in the beauty of holiness, all that He is in His person. Most of us don’t even know what it is to worship God. (Myself included.) How wonderful He is! All the earth is called to worship the Lord. We must worship him in the beauty of holiness, as God in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. Glorious things are said of Him, both as motives to praise and matter of praise. We have been set apart by God, through the blood of Jesus. We accept Jesus as Savior, we have reason to celebrate. Nature itself cries out in praise to the Creator in all its splendor and glory given by God, how much more should we cry out in praises and holy worship to Him for how and what He has blessed us. We worship Him because He is holy. It is His holiness that causes us to worship and praise Him. It is not where but how you worship Him that is important.

psalm 96-6

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same
the Lord’S name is to be praised.
The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens.
Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high,
Who humbleth himself
to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
Psalms 113:3-6 (KJV)

There are many things to be said about worship. This has just been one aspect of worship that has been on my heart. We worship the Lord because He is holy.

Lord bless you. His grace is abundant and His hope unending.

IN COMPARISON OR BY DESIGN

What is our desire?

How am I going to carry that thing home and burry it so Charlie in the next yard won’t try to get to it? How? He doesn’t deserve any of it. He barks at me all the time. It will be mine!

Galatians 6:4 (AMP) But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor. Galatians 6:4 (NLTPay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.

Galatians 6:4 (TLBLet everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well done and won’t need to compare himself with someone else.

Galatians 6:4 (KJV)  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Lets's talk

Lets’s talk

GETTING THE IDEA! STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS. IT IS LIKE COMPARING APPLE TO ORANGES; COCONUTS TO KIWIS; THE DOG TO THE CAT; THE RABBIT TO THE TURTLE; THE HIPPO TO THE GIRAFFE; THE PEACOCK TO THE OSTRICH; THE GRIZZLY TO THE KOALA; FROM THE TWO ROOM SIZE COMPUTER TO THE ONE THAT SITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND; HER TO SHE; HIM TO HE….AND IT GOES ON. THERE ARE NO COMPARISONS.ARE YOU DOING WHAT YOU KNOW THE LORD IS DESIRING FOR YOU. OKAY! MAKE SURE NOW? THEN BE HAPPY AND CONTENT WITH WHO AND WHAT YOU ARE IN JESUS.

THE LORD HAS SPECIFIC ‘JOBS,’ GIFTS FOR EACH ONE OF US. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND WE CAN NOT ALL DO THE SAME THING. SOME MAY HAVE THE SAME OFFICE IN DIFFERENT PLACES, BUT THEY OPERATE IN A DESIGN THAT IS RIGHT FOR WHERE THEY ARE PLACED.

DO NOT DESIRE ANOTHER’S PLACE. GOD PUTS US WHERE HE KNOWS WE WILL BE MOST EFFECTIVE. IF HE PLACES YOU TALKING TO YOUR NEIGHBOR ACROSS THE FENCE, PRAISE THE LORD, THERE IS YOUR MINISTRY AN PLACE FOR NOW AS GOD SEES FIT. AT WORK YO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SHARE THE GOSPEL BUT OUTSIDE IN THE COURTYARD AT LUNCH. BUT THIS CRAZY GUY THAT CONTINUES TO COME TO YOUR TABLE ISN’T THE ONE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO ABOUT JESUS. OH YA, YA WANNA BET. THAT IS WHO GOD MATCHED YOU WITH. MINISTER WHERE THE LORD HAS PUT YOU. DON’T WANT SOMEONE ELSES POSITION, YOU MAY GET IT AND IT WILL BE MORE THAN YOU BARGIN FOR.

The body of Christ

The body of Christ is made up of many, not just a few, but many working together.

1 Corinthians 12:12-27 (ESV) 12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 1 Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV) 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

just like everyone else

I want to be like them. I hope no one notices I’m really not like them.

THE LORD WANTS US TO UNDERSTAND WHERE WE ARE IS WHERE HE HAS PLACED US. WE DO NOT HAVE TO GO LOOKING FOR A POSITION, HE WILL PUT US THERE, WE JUST NEED TO SEEK HIM AND HIS WILL WITH OUR WHOLE HEART AND GOD WILL PUT US WHERE HE SEES AS THE BEST POSSIBLE PLACE EVER.1 Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV) 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

WHERE WE ARE PLACED IS BY GODS HOLY DESIGN. WHEN GOD DESIGNS SOMETHING DON’T MESS WITH IT, THAT WILL SPELL TROUBLE FOR US.

DON’T TRY TO WANT OR COVET WHAT YOU WERE NOT GIVEN.

YOU ARE YOU. YOU ARE WHO GOD CREATED YOU TO BE. ENJOY AND REJOICE IN THE PLACE THE LORD HAS DESIGNED AND PLACED YOU TO MINISTER. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF WITH THE PERSON IN THE NEXT PEW OR THE CHURCH ACROSS TOWN. COMPARISON OF THIS NATURE WILL ONLY DEFEAT YOU AND THE BODY OF CHRIST, LOCALLY AND WORLDWIDE.

Perfect day. Contented.

Perfect day. Contented.

We are Christs. He did not design us to be robots nor did He design us to all do the same thing, no one would get anything done for the Lord. One last word I’d like to leave with you as I close. This is the key to stop with the comparing of one another and wanting something we can’t have.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

I am going to reword this verse in my own words.

“Allow your manner of life, your behavior and way of living and doing things be without wanting more than you have or what others have (what you cannot have), and be content and fully satisfied with what you do have. WHY? I the Lord, I am with you and I will be there for you when you need Me in any given situation. I will help you and lead you. One thing I ask, trust Me.”

Lord bless you.  I love spending time with you and I trust to meet with you again soon.

Getting ready for Sunday morning….

As I was sitting here tonight getting my things ready for church tomorrow morning I pecked this out. I thought is was appropriate as many of are getting ready for our Sunday morning. I am not a poet, but I enjoy trying. I trust yu will see and understand the reality of this little piece I have composed here quickly.

Have a blessed and wonderful “Sunday Going To Meetin’ Day”.

Tired and needing rest.

Church tomorrow I’m ever so blessed.

Waking to hear God‘s Word,

Let His Praises be heard.

Ready for a bit of shut-eye,

And rise in hope to see Him in the sky.

What a thrill to know one day,

Any time I might like to say,

As sure as the sun will rise,

I’m waiting for Jesus my prize.

Into my soft comfy bed,

Not much else really to be said.

My Jesus I await the morning’s light,

To open church doors with great delight,

Listen as the truth will be spoken.

His promises are never broken.

To rest and then to awake,

He has much for me to partake.

A full day and ready to embrace,

That I may complete my race.

With joy I look ahead

To what is to be said.

Truth, the truth of my Lord.

Without IT my life cannot afford.
