WAITING

Ecclesiastes 11:1 (Amplified Bible) CAST YOUR bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.

Bring your cares, desires, troubles, needs, wants; bring all you are carrying, good, bad or indifferent to the feet of Jesus. Cast your bread upon the waters (1 Peter 5:7 (Amplified Bible) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.) Jesus cares about your every concern, give them to Him.

After many days you shall find it. AFTER MANY DAYS….don’t always expect Him to jump and fix things as you ask. Too many times scripture tells us to be still, fear not nor be dismayed (discouraged), and to *WAIT (see the note below for wait).  We humans are not good waiters. We have too many instant this, instant that. Like the saying goes, “God is not a microwave.” The Lord has His timing for a reason and purpose. The main reason and purpose is to draw us near to Him. (Hebrews 10:22 (KJV) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

This phrase is also a great promise that He will do what He has promised..He will answer us. (Isaiah 43:1-5 (KJV) {Put your name in the place of Israel and Jacob – make scripture personal.} 1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring…..) Everything God promised to all the worthies of faith and so many others, did He not answer them? Did God not fulfill His word to them?

Many times the answers were not what ones thought. I think of Joseph at the moment. Do you think he really knew that he was going to save his family like God had it to unfold? Do you remember his dreams? Joseph didn’t really know his brothers and parents were going to bow to him like they did and how it all came about, through a famine?….uhhh…Did you get that, I hope so, because I’m not sure how else to explain it. (2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.) In Joseph’s life this was for the glory of God. Your answers will be also as you wait and allow Him to do the work in you and your situation.

Anyway, God uses His own way, time and circumstances to answer us. But, know God has heard you and He will give you an answer. Until then, wait and rest in Him. (Psalms 27:14 (Amplified Bible) Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.– Psalms 27:14 (KJV) Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.)

Why bring WAITING into the main verse in Ecc.? It is the essence of the ability to see, one day, “many days”, to see our answers to our prayer. Trust the Lord. His grace will give and lead you into the hope for His promises to you.

Lord bless you and thank you for your time. I trust as you seek the Lord for your needs, you will know His grace and experience His wonderful hope.

*[A good definition of waiting...(Matthew 11:28-30 (Amplified Bible) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.) Also look at Acts 1:4 “wait for the promise” and John 15:1-9 “abide in me,” “continue ye in”…. wait (in Acts) means to stay and it comes from the word abide and continue (in John) which means to dwell, stay, remain, endure, tarry… ]

A few quick thoughts I want to share with you.

Can any of us really say anything but, ‘the Lord is good?’ I trust we cannot.

In the past several days and months much has taken place in my heart and life. I have come across a few quotes or sayings I’d like to share.

Kindness makes a difference….Even if it is a very tiny act of goodness and you think no one notices, God notices. Always remember that one little act of kindness can tilt the balance of an entire situation. One little act of kindness can ripple out in countless ways that you many never know about.–Message From God

Today Christianity needs to be in contact with Jesus Christ. When it is not, it is as dead as a dodo bird.—J. Vernon McGee‘s Thru The Bible

The word of Christ is spoken to all believers; and there is a cleansing virtue in that word, as it works grace, and works out corruption—Matthew Henry Concise

We have a great and mighty freedom in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

John 15:4-5 (KJV)
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:7-12 (KJV)
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

It is the great concern of all Christ’s disciples, constantly to keep up dependence upon Christ, and communion with him.—Matthew Henry Concise

The only sense that is common in the long run, is the sense of change-and we all instinctively avoid it. – E. B. White

He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery. – Harold Wilson

Sometimes it seems like God is difficult to find and impossibly far away. We get so caught up in our small daily duties and irritations that they become the only things that we can focus on. What we forget is that God’s love and beauty are all around us, every day, if only we would take the time to look up and see them. – Matthias

Romans 12:2 (from the Message)
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

If a child be brought up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord, we have both reason and revelation to encourage us to expect a godly and useful life. —Adam Clarke‘s Commentary

Where religious education is neglected, alas! what fruits of righteousness can be expected? An uncultivated soul is like an uncultivated field, all overgrown with briers, thorns, and thistles.—Adam Clarke’s Commentary

Psalms 1:1-3 (KJV)
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

God’s grace be with you as your hope increases daily in your walk with daily Him.

Lord bless you.
